The busiest weekend I had in Dallas in years...I even had a date!

Well I guess I have to sum up the holidays before I get caught up to now. They were great and got off to an interesting start. I was flying home Thursday night, I made it to Chicago alright but my flight to Lansing was cancelled.

So I get in line to find out whether I can get another flight or whatever, and this cute girl gets in line behind me. So we get to talking and it turns out that she's also from Dallas, and not only that but she's also trying to get to Lansing that night. She has to get there because she's getting a ride up north from some friends the next morning. So she actually proposes the idea of renting a car and driving up, I suppose after enough conversation to convince her that I'm not an axe rapist or serial murderer.

So we find out no flights out that night and get in line to rent a car, and the guy in front of us is actually driving to Lansing too, so we go together. A slight disappointment to me but I'm sure it made her a little more comfortable and also it was nice because the guy put the car on his card and drove all the way up. It was actually a fun ride imo, we talked the whole way and I had fortunately brought a few CDs. The guy was actually a singer in a band, who were having a show that Friday night at a half bar, half strip club. I dragged my little brother out to the show with me, it was a lot of fun even though it wasn't really my kinda music, afterwards we spent an hour at the strip club (a couple of his friends came but spent the whole time at the titty bar).

oh man this is gonna turn into another long as diary.

Anyway the rest of the holiday was good, I got some nice clothes for Christmas and saw the Pistons beat up on the hapless Atlanta Hawks at the Palace. Came back to Dallas the day after xmas and then flew back up to St. Louis that Thursday. Spent the weekend with my boys celebrating the New Year's, including a nice little roll during the Alamo Bowl. That was fun because our boy the DJ lawyer spun an excellent set for us that went almost the whole trip, starting with D&B and then smoothing out beautifully into some progressive and then deep house.

Unfortunately the trip ended on a real downer as Arkansas blew their way to a loss in the Capitol one bowl, and I got drunk and flew back. What was funny was that the entire holiday, even with all that fun planned, I was looking forward to getting back to Dallas so I could call this cute girl up and get a date.

Which gets me back to last Saturday, when I was on said date. When I called her to set it up I'd forgotten the Cowboys game was Saturday night, the plan was just to call her when she got off work and meet somewhere. So I guess I dragged her out to watch a football game although she didn't seem to mind. We met at 8 at b-dub's although the place was packed so we ended up at a little hole in the wall bar near where she lived. We watched the game and talked and ate bar food, I did a pretty good job of paying a lot more attention to her than the game, until the end anyway. It was actually a good date idea because it gave us something to talk about...fortunately she wasn't a football hater.

So we stayed and talked until they made us finish our drinks around 2:30. I got a nice drunk parking lot kiss and then drove home (bad idea I know) and fortunately made it back safely. I'm looking forward to the next date and a better kiss.

It was actually a pretty productive weekend for me, with a lot of shopping (bought a pair of Steve Madden's from the Nordstrom Rack, and a knife tray from Crate & Barrel). Got in a workout Saturday morning and managed to watch almost all the football, do laundry, and clean my apartment.

So now I have to figure out how to keep the doctor in San Antonio thinking that I'm all about her while going out with the new girl as often as I can, which isn't going to be easy but should be possible. I should call her tonight and ask her if she wants to go out later this week...then maybe this weekend I can get down to San Antonio

Oh yea, I beat Civ 4 on immortal again, only to find they updated the HoF mod again. Again.

Simply slip the shaft out of the head, and if you're poorly enough endowed, hey presto, non-consenting half steel sexual action.

i did figure out that you can be introverted and still be around people...as long as it's a small, select group of people.

you're not the only person to say i'm like a totally different person though.

At the moment, he's my favourite Seahawk.

Irony: ammo says it's time. Tom is blocked.
